I did not get all my runs in this week :( Sadly I did something to my back during Yoga yesterday and I hurt too bad to run today. So I will try again next week. Luckily I somehow have two extra weeks in my half marathon training plan. It’s all good.
Everyone came over for the big party today. It was really nice but the race never got going. Stupid rain. That will not stop us from having fun. Last week I registered for a Mud Run here in the twin cities area. The Go Commando race. I am running it with my sisters and mom. So we hashed out some details today :) So excited for that! We are making T shirts but we need a team name. Any ideas? I am leaning towards “The Dirty Divas.”
We also decided that I am going to quit one of my jobs this week. The daycare is going bye bye. i love my co workers and the children but my boss is crazy. My sanity is not worth the little money I make there. I am going to look for another part time job. I hope something comes up but if not we will be just fine. I have more time to go workout this week since my “awesome” boss gave me six hours of work this week. So that is kinda nice. Enough rambling about random random. Here is what I hope to accomplish this week.
Tuesday: 3 miles and BodyPump
Thursday: 4 or 5 miles
Saturday: 3 miles and BodyFlow
Sunday: Rest Day
As always this is subject to change. As of right now I am supposed to go to an in service for the daycare. But I am hoping that once I quit I will not have to go.
Have a great week!
Well, the day finally came. I was so nervous last night wondering what I got myself into and if I would be able to finish it. Not to mention I was running with my sister-in-law and mom (who barely trained at all.) So we were all sitting there freaking ourselves out with what we were about to do.
Our wave was at 8:15. So we were up at 6 at off we went. It was conforting when we got there and we saw people of all shapes and sizes. These people were in for a good time and so were we.
We were all clean and ready to go. I believe there were a total of 13 obstacles. They were challenging but not as hard as I thought they would be. I am sure it helps to be in shape.
We walked a lot of it but we made it. My mom did not drink any water in the water this morning and barely any yesterday. A Lesson learned. My mom literally looked at me at one point and said I think I am gonna collapse. Luckily the volunteers were really helpful and chased us down with some water for her.
haha. I was a dork. I was really enjoying the race.
Down the slide. This baby was really fast. I was not sure if I was going to stop but I did :]
Trudging through the mud and entering the finish line. :] We finished at right about 45 minutes. I was really surprised considering we walked a lot of it and we had all the obstacles.
The aftermath. Next year we are hoping to get a bigger group together and make some shirts. It was a great race so much so that if I could have I would have run it again. Afterwards, we all went out to breakfast. I am so thankful for the chance to do this race. I cant wait for next year. :] If you ever get a chance to do a race like this do it!
They took some professional pictures once those come available I will post those.
