1 note &
Thanks for you kind words and sorry it took me so long to reply to your question. I was just trying to figure out the best way to answer it. I thought I would just go ahead and answer it publicly just in case anyone else was wondering.
When I was about 10 yrs old we moved across the state. My family then started going to an Apostolic/Pentecostal church. It was really good for my siblings and I. We found some great people and a belief system that was close to ours (for the most part) so we continued to go. I love that church it is very near and dear to my heart. I was very involved in the church teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir and helping with media. Growing up my best friend was and still is the pastor’s daughter. So they are literally a second family to me. I love those folks so much!
Then when I got married I moved two hours away. There are other churches that are Apostolic/Pentecostal in the area. But I have not been able to find one that I feel like I fit with. It has been kind of a struggle for me in the last fours to find that perfect church for me. But I do not think any church will be able to beat my home church. Those people are one in a million. We still go to a Pentecostal church because their core belief’s are closest to us then any other church in the area.
If you do any research of this group of churches. You will find that they believe modesty is important. A lot of people go a step further and believe that women should not cut their hair and they should wear skirts along with other things. They also believe men should not wear shorts. I grew up doing that because that is just how it was. I have learned that it is not nearly as important as I once thought. I still think it is important to dress modestly which I strive to do.
I hope that answers your question. If you have more just ask!
